Stargazing In Darwen
This was a new venue for the band as The Big House Blues Bar opened its doors in August 2017. The venue is fabulous with some of the best facilities I have had the pleasure to encounter. An excellent range of very reasonably priced drinks - food from the smokehouse kitchen is A1 - (I had one of the best burger meals I can remember in a long time) - A welcoming owner and staff and the locals create a brilliant atmosphere. Sound and lighting are brilliant - the sound engineer nailed it for us on the night so everything was in place and the band didn’t disappoint.

Still I’m Sad Tarot Woman Starstruck Do You Close Your Eyes Stargazer A Light In The Black

Mistreated Since You’ve Been Gone Impromptu Heaven & Hell Jam Perfect Strangers Highway Star
The band ripped through their set with the main addition of Do You Close Your Eyes which Wayne was performing for the first time. The track was recorded so judge for yourself - me I thought it was pretty flawless !!
Things went so well that no fewer than five encores were played - Mistreated had been moved from the main setlist to make way for a couple of tracks and that was followed by what was supposed to be the last track of the night Since You've Been Gone. The crowd were demanding more so a quick decision was made to cover Deep Purple's Perfect Strangers - catch was Andy needed to program his keyboards so a Jam ensued which burst into a killer version of Heaven & Hell - only shame is I didn't record it. The guys played Perfect Strangers and as a bonus threw in Highway Star to finish off.

A capacity crowd at The BigHouse Blues Bar were energetic from start to finish and made it a brilliant night so thank you one and all and we are counting the days to a return trip.
